We are pleased to announce that Gary Marcus has successfully completed the five-day Distech TR-3001 Eclypse Facilities / EC-gfxProgram Interface training course, delivered in Birmingham.
The course provided an in-depth overview of the Distech Controls Eclypse Facilities product range, combining interactive classroom learning with hands-on lab exercises. Throughout the week, participants worked directly with controllers, software tools and applications while engaging with both the instructor and other attendees.
During the training, Gary gained practical experience in selecting, installing and configuring Eclypse Facilities controllers, including ECY-S1000, ECY-450, ECY-303, ECY-PTU, ECY-VAV, ECY-STAT and APEX devices. The course also covered hardware discovery using xpressNetwork Utility, along with controller configuration via both the configuration wizard and web browser interface.
A key focus of the programme was programming and system integration. Gary developed an understanding of generating EC-gfxProgram code using Builder, Distech Controls’ simplified engineering workflow tool, and learned how to create and programme control strategies using the EC-gfxProgram interface. The course also explored master and slave configurations, BACnet IP network architecture, network communication between controllers, and the integration of additional protocols such as Modbus and M-Bus.
Further areas of learning included configuring alarms, histories and schedules, as well as understanding Distech Controls’ DC Space and Resense solutions, where a single controller manages HVAC terminals, lighting, blinds and multi-sensors. The advantages of the Eclypse Facilities operating system and user interface were also demonstrated.
The training was delivered through a balanced mix of live demonstrations and guided lab work, with the trainer providing ongoing support, regular check-ins and daily summaries to reinforce learning.
Completing this course strengthens our technical capability with Distech Controls solutions and supports our continued commitment to delivering well-engineered, reliable BEMS systems for our clients.
On behalf of everyone at Concord, well done to Gary on completing the course and continuing to develop his technical expertise.
