With over 18 years of industry experience and eight years at Concord, Rob plays a vital role as our Service & Maintenance Manager. Responsible for overseeing the delivery and support of our Building Management System (BMS) maintenance portfolio, he also leads the delivery of small works projects. His role involves regular client site visits, ensuring every contract, installation, and future requirement is carefully understood and supported.

Engineering Expertise with a Personal Touch

Rob brings a friendly and personable approach to his role, something clients and colleagues alike value greatly. His leadership style promotes teamwork, encouraging a collaborative mindset across the service department. It’s an approach that not only builds strong internal relationships but also ensures Concord maintains its trusted, tailored service for every client.

A Career Built on Adaptability and Growth

After earning a 2:1 BEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Aston University, Rob began his career in the Naval Support team at what is now GE. There, he supported electrical propulsion systems for Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels.

Keen to move into a more hands-on engineering role, he joined a previous incarnation of Concord. Despite having no prior BMS experience, he started on the helpdesk, supporting clients remotely, before progressing to small works and eventually managing national BMS installations for new builds. Ultimately, the fast-paced, responsive environment of service and small works drew him back — and it’s where he feels most at home today.

Outside the Office

Away from work, Rob is a dedicated family man. Married for 13 years, he lives in Walsall with his wife, 10-year-old daughter, and 8-year-old son. Both he and his wife studied away from Walsall but chose to return to their hometown to be near family and lifelong friends.

Weekends are all about quality time together, whether it’s going out for food, visiting friends, or enjoying motorsport events like the British Touring Car Championship or hill climbing at Shelsley Walsh. A lifelong fan of motor racing, Rob finds these outings the perfect mix of excitement and relaxation.
